Job Description
* Responsibilities / Critical Deliverables
o Address firewall configuration vulnerabilities including:
o Address single points of failure (NTP and authentication services).
o Uplift authentication protocols.
o Harden management public facing IPs.
* Harden VPN access for the organisation configurations, including
o Disable deprecated algorithms and weak cipher support.
o Harden security association lifetimes
o Harden revocation checks for certificates used on VPN connections.
o Harden CISCO ASA TLS and SSH support.
* Support the design, build, and management of secure connectivity solutions including VPNs, firewalls, cloud gateways, and application delivery technologies.
* Perform system administration and maintenance of connectivity platforms and network security infrastructure.
* Implement and manage security protocols, vulnerability assessments, and continuous monitoring across all connectivity services.
* Maintain comprehensive documentation including architecture diagrams, configurations, and procedures.
* Ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulatory requirements.
* Partner with technical teams to ensure efficient and secure integrations across cloud and on-prem environments.
* Respond to security incidents, maintain incident readiness tools, and support remediation activities.
* Participate in post-incident reviews and implement improvements to harden infrastructure.
The Successful Applicant
Skills & Qualifications
* 7+ years' experience in network security roles within large enterprise environments.
* Deep expertise in designing and managing next-generation firewalls and secure networking solutions, including Palo Alto, CheckPoint, F5, or Cisco (ASA).
* Tertiary qualification in IT, Networking, Engineering, or a related field (mandatory).
* One or more relevant certifications, such as CISSP, CCNP, CCIE, Azure Network Engineer Associate, or relevant vendor certifications (mandatory).
* Strong working knowledge of Azure networking, API security, and VPN gateway configuration.
* Excellent communication skills with a strong ability to work across teams and manage stakeholder expectations.
* Familiarity with MITRE ATT&CK, deception technologies.
