Job Opportunity: Family Violence Solicitor- Community Law
The role of a Family Violence Solicitor at our organisation involves providing high-quality legal advice, casework, and court representation with a focus on family violence.
Key responsibilities include:
* Delivering legal advice to clients in a sensitive and understanding manner
* Casework and court representation, with a strong emphasis on achieving the best possible outcomes
* Working collaboratively within an integrated practice alongside social workers, maternal child health teams, and partner agencies to achieve shared goals
* Supporting referrals from maternal health services through our Mabels Program, ensuring seamless transitions for clients
* Engaging in community legal education and stakeholder collaboration to promote understanding and support for family violence prevention
* Participating in reviews, data reporting, and reflective practice as part of a multidisciplinary team to drive continuous improvement
Requirements for this position include:
* Minimum 2 years' post-admission experience in law
* Experience in family violence or family law, grounded in a trauma-informed approach, with a strong ability to empathise with clients
* Excellent communication skills and confidence in managing sensitive client matters, with a high level of professionalism
This is a full-time opportunity (35 hours per week), working Monday to Friday, 9am-5pm. We offer a range of benefits including:
