Job Summary
This is a field service position within the NY metro area.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform planned maintenance and electrical safety inspections on a broad range of patient care and support equipment in compliance with standards.
Manage all assigned equipment and schedule service.
Conduct pre-acceptance inspections and develop PM procedures on equipment; maintain related files.
Ensure test equipment is properly calibrated and functioning.
Respond promptly to clinical department calls to evaluate and resolve operator complaints.
Research and order repair parts within budget constraints.
Maintain purchase order logs and validate invoices for payment.
Provide informal training to equipment users and staff as needed.
Recommend service strategies to the Department Manager and keep supervisors informed.
Participate in Quality Improvement and Risk Management programs.
Maintain an organized and efficient work environment.
Provide emergency on-call support as required.
Document asset-related actions in accordance with department practices.
Attend and participate in department meetings.
Collaborate with technical staff to stay updated on device issues and updates.
Qualifications:
Associate's degree in electronics/biomedical equipment technology, military training, or equivalent experience.
1-3 years of servicing clinical/patient care equipment in a hospital setting.
Valid driver’s license required for travel positions.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Strong communication and customer service skills.
Good organizational and time management skills.
Knowledge of computer applications for tracking service histories and reporting.
Effective troubleshooting skills.
Willingness to serve on-call as needed.
Strong work ethic and team-oriented attitude.
