With bureaus in the Central Coast, Tamworth, Lismore, Coffs Harbour, Port Macquarie, and Taree, it broadcasts from a state-of-the-art studio in Newcastle, where it’s been based for 60 years. NBN is also a key talent pool for the wider Nine Network.Join our news team in Port Macquarie and report on a wide range of local stories, from council matters and community issues to breaking news, weather, and sport. You'll work with experienced camera operators to create content for our News bulletin, NBN website, and social media platforms.Day to day you will:Identify and react to breaking stories with journalistic integrityBe across local news and sport, monitor community groups on social mediaIdentify and react to breaking stories, issues and trends with smart and engaging ideas within local, state, national and international sportHave your finger on the pulse of everything that is happening in sport, to ensure the best content is covered dailyHave a good understanding of who key stakeholders are in the regionStay up to date with regional events that are newsworthyConduct interviews, both in person and liveCollaborate with producers to script and edit stories, produce multiple packages, VOs and VOSOTS dailyAbility to work well in a team environment, meet tight deadlines and work under pressureBuild a strong network of contactsReport across various media as required, including radio and on socialsQualificationsWhat we would like to see:Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism or equivalent.Experience in television journalism or news, with an emphasis on sports coverage.Confident writing style with the ability to produce compelling content for TV news.Strong on-air presence and proficiency in packaging stories for broadcast.Excellent relationship-building skills with a broad network in news and sports media, including media managers, teams, coaches, and players.Seamless and crisp communication skills essential for effective storytelling.Experience breaking stories, particularly in the realm of sports journalism.Proactive approach to problem-solving, with a knack for generating and discussing innovative ideas.Experience in producing segments or stories for television broadcasts.An abundance of energy, ideas, and a collaborative spirit to thrive in a team environment.Additional InformationOur Commitment to Diversity and Inclusion:We're committed to a safe, respectful and inclusive Nine.
