The Role
As a Special Needs Education Assistant, you will work under teacher direction to assist in delivering education programmes and promote a supportive and inclusive learning environment. You will support teachers in planning and implementing education programmes that help students reach their full potential across academic, social, emotional and physical domains, including the use of computers and digital technologies. You will also provide feedback on education and therapy programmes and take part in evaluating progress towards special education goals.
Essential Qualifications
Ideal applicants possess:
High interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate with staff to meet student needs.
Knowledge and experience working with students with a range of disabilities and learning difficulties.
Ability to support student growth academically and socially within the classroom setting.
Eligibility
Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident, or holder of a valid visa with relevant work rights for the term of appointment.
Valid Working With Children Check before starting employment.
Consent to a nationally coordinated criminal history check and possession of a current Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department of Education's Screening Unit before starting employment.
