Overview
AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. In other words, we're the people who keep the cloud running. We support all AWS data centres and all of the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on. We work on the most challenging problems, with thousands of variables impacting the supply chain — and we're looking for talented people who want to help.
The Data Centre Design Services team is looking for a BIM Client Information Manager to join our highly collaborative leadership team, responsible for all data centre (DC) and ancillary building projects across AWS Americas North and South regions. As a BIM Client Information Manager you will work with a multi‐disciplinary team of BIM specialists with a detailed knowledge of BIM engineering and construction principles. The role is accountable for BIM deliveries in both design and construction stages, consistently achieving industry‐leading standards and technologies across the AWS DC portfolio. The team implements BIM technologies and workflows while maintaining a suite of BIM documentation.
Key Responsibilities
* BIM oversight of all aspects of the Data Center life cycle starting with design, construction, and maintenance of Data Center BIM models.
* Work to establish and maintain a common data environment, along with processes, procedures, and security around the AWS design team's information exchanges.
* Ensure BIM files meet AWS standards and follow the Exchange Information Requirements (EIR) at all times during the project by reviewing consultant BIM documentation, BIM files, coordinate output formats, and validating data quality.
* Work on concurrent projects in multiple geographical locations, from design through construction.
* Assist with establishing and maintaining BIM standards, processes, and workflows as well as educating and training internal teams in BIM software and procedures.
* Lead discussions in engineering and construction best practices, supporting the wider team by sharing knowledge with a view to establishing new standards.
A Day in the Life
On a normal day you will review project Revit and Navisworks models, assess model development, modeling standards and practices, and adherence to the BIM standards, then compile your comments. You will then meet with the BIM design or construction project team to review your comments and discuss any BIM‐relevant items on the project. You will also work with our internal Design Services BIM team to communicate project improvements and innovate, and may meet with the wider BIM Client Information Manager team to discuss process improvement, document standards, innovations and project challenges.
Basic Qualifications
* 4+ years of industrial or commercial engineering experience in mission‐critical facilities, including but not limited to data centers, power generation, or oil and gas facilities.
* 4+ years working with Revit and Navisworks.
* Experience in the establishment and management of BIM & VDC models, including orientation, geo‐positioning, coordination, and the set‐up of model reviews.
* Excellent organization skills in archival and maintenance operations of project documents.
Preferred Qualifications
* Experience with building codes and regulations for your region.
* Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
* Knowledge of both mechanical and electrical equipment or design related to data center electrical and mechanical topology.
