Key Responsibilities
* Evaluate and ensure all safety inductions and procedures have been completed prior to undertaking any tasks.
* Mark out/off structural fabrication and shapes according to specifications.
* After dressing has been completed by the steelyard, prepare material for bending, drilling or machining.
* Assemble and weld parts according to technical engineering drawings and route sheets.
* Repair, replace, modify and fabricate using appropriate tools and welding techniques.
* Perform appropriate welding to carry out the job.
* Operate hand tools and power tools appropriate to the job.
* Draw and interpret sketches appropriate to the job.
* Operate forklift/crane when required to shift and load equipment.
* Assist in the provision of on-the-job training when required.
* Dismantle, replace and assemble engineering components during general fabrication section activities.
* Conduct QA /QC inspections at 3rd party vendors, ensuring all repairs/project works are to standards, liaising with Engineering and product support as necessary.
Desirable Skills and Qualifications
* Boilermaker Trade Certificate.
* Strong attention to detail.
* Ability to work in confined spaces.
* Ability to read and interpret documents, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, technical drawings and procedure manuals.
* Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
* Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
* Ability to complete weld test FCAW.
