Are you a HDR candidate looking to enhance your teaching experience while continuing your research? The School of Criminology and Criminal Justice is offering an exciting opportunity for passionate and driven HDR candidates to join our Teaching Fellowship program in Trimester 2, 2026!
As a HDR Student Teaching Fellow, you will play a key role in contributing to the teaching efforts of the University in Criminology and Criminal Justice, particularly at undergraduate level and to carry out activities to develop their skills as a teacher in higher education settings. Each HDR Student Teaching Fellow will work with the support of an academic supervisor and will work during their period of employment to develop an increased degree of autonomy as capabilities allow.
Key responsibilities include but not limited to:
* Foster an outstanding student experience and encourage active participation and engagement in learning and teaching at the undergraduate level facilitating high quality, student‐centred learning activities.
* Support high quality learning and teaching outcomes for students evidenced by technology enhanced learning, problem oriented, authentic learning and assessment practices.
* Support a student‐centred service culture and establishment of positive, respectful and supportive relationships between staff and students.
* Where appropriate promote and enhance student learning experiences through seeking opportunities to strengthen Griffith's research / teaching nexus.
* Continuously improve teaching practice through professional development and critical reflection informed by a range of evaluation approaches.
* Where appropriate to support personal professional development act as course convenor at the undergraduate level, with support and direction from more senior staff.
We have four (4) positions available. These are fixed term (one year, with the option for extension based on performance. Actual duration will be dependent on your HDR program completion date), 20% part‐time positions primarily based at either Griffith University Brisbane South (Nathan) or Gold Coast. As Griffith is a multi‐site University you may be required to work across other locations.

Salary Range
The full‐time equivalent base salary for an Associate Lecturer (Level A) is in the range $82,704 - $111,219 per annum + 17% superannuation. The total FTE package will be in the range $96,764 - $130,126 per annum.
The successful candidate will be enrolled in a Griffith HDR program post confirmation and have at least two trimesters of prior teaching experience.
You will also have:
* Demonstrated ability to teach in Criminology and Criminal Justice area and engage with undergraduate students effectively, including developing teaching materials and delivering lectures and tutorials.
* Proven ability to convey complex ideas in a clear and accessible manner, both verbally and in writing, to a diverse audience of students.
* Excellent time management and organisational skills, with the ability to balance teaching duties with research and other academic commitments.
* Demonstrated commitment to student learning and providing academic guidance and mentorship to students.
* Proficiency in using learning management systems (e.g., Canvas) and other educational technologies to support student learning.
* A commitment to ongoing professional development in teaching practices and engagement in teaching‐related training.
