Today it is one of Darwin's main tourist attractions and is home to the famous Saltwater Crocodile Beyond Crocodiles is the wide range of exotic and native wildlife; including Lions, Meerkats, Monkeys, Cassowary and more... As a Tour Guide at Crocodylus Park, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional levels of animal husbandry while maintaining high welfare standards.
The Role:
We are recruiting for a casual Tour Guide / Crocodile Keeper that can
* Lead informative and exciting tours for visitors of all ages
* Educate guests about crocodiles, their habitats, and conservation
* Participate in the daily care and feeding of crocodiles
* Assist with habitat maintenance and safety checks
* Support special events, educational programs, and VIP experiences
* Work closely with a team of experienced handlers and guides
* Follow section husbandry routines to deliver a high level of animal care to all species including, but not limited to, enclosure servicing, diet provision, providing daily enrichment opportunities, positive reinforcement training.
* Conduct continuous observations on all animals during the working day
* Ensure standard operating procedures, risk assessments and policies are adhered to at all times to ensure safe working practices.
* Record all elements of animal care as daily diary reports.
* Support all members of staff and, if directed, facilitate the work of other departments.
About You:
* A detailed understanding of animal husbandry
- Physically fit to work in an outdoor environment
- Public speaking and customer service skills
- Excellent record keeping and observational skills
- Be able to work unsupervised with initiative
- Problem solving attitude
- Manual driver's licence
* Available to work weekends and public holidays
* Positive working attitude
