Overview
Older Persons Community Mental Health Clinician – Bega. This permanent part‑time position is based in Bega and may be eligible for NSW Health Rural Incentives. Hours per week: 24.
What You’ll Be Doing
- The Community Mental Health Clinician provides recovery‑focused clinical services including assessment, care coordination, intervention, liaison and review as part of a multidisciplinary team for older people referred to the service with a mental illness, a mental disorder, or moderate to severe behavioural and psychological symptoms of dementia.
Remuneration
Counsellor L1/2: $37.03 – $52.83 per hour; Occupational Therapist L1/2: $37.03 – $52.83 per hour; Psychologist: $39.01 – $57.10 per hour; Registered Nurse: $36.39 – $51.09 per hour; Social Worker L1/2: $37.03 – $52.83 per hour; Welfare Officer L1/2: $37.03 – $52.83 per hour.
Eligibility and Selection Criteria
- Tertiary qualifications and current registration with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency as a Registered Nurse, Occupational Therapist or Psychologist, OR tertiary qualifications for Social Worker, Counsellor or Welfare Officer with eligibility for membership of the relevant professional association.
- Demonstrated experience in contemporary Older Persons Mental Health practice, including mental health assessments and provision of evidence‑based interventions for older people with mental illness or dementia symptoms.
- Understanding of the NSW Mental Health Act (2007).
- Understanding of mental health rehabilitation and recovery principles with a collaborative, strengths‑based approach to care.
- Strong communication skills to engage with consumers, families and carers and high computer literacy.
- Current unrestricted driver’s licence and willingness/ability to drive as required (may involve long distances).
