Job Description
The IT Technician is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of all computer systems. This includes monitoring, maintaining, and troubleshooting various hardware and software components. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of computer technology and be able to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Hardware Diagnostics & Repair: Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair desktops, laptops, servers, and peripherals
* Fault Identification: Systematically identify hardware and software faults through diagnostic tools and manual testing
* System Imaging & Installation: Install and configure operating systems (Windows, macOS, Linux)
* Software Troubleshooting & Updates: Resolve software errors and application conflicts
* Data Sanitization: Perform secure data wiping and sanitization of storage devices in compliance with organizational and regulatory standards
* Preventive Maintenance: Clean and maintain internal hardware components to ensure optimal function
* Testing & Quality Control: Run tests to verify proper operation of repaired or reimaged systems
Required Skills and Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you will need:
* A bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field
* 2+ years of experience as a helpdesk technician
* Strong knowledge of hardware technology and concepts
* Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities
* Excellent communication and customer service skills
