About the Role
Reporting to the Port Planning and Design Manager, you will:
* Manage the Port Development Framework and provide strategic advice on statutory and port planning matters across Ashburton, Dampier, Port Hedland, Varanus Island and future sites.
* Prepare and update port-specific Land Use Master Plans and ensure they align with the Port Development Strategy and relevant local, regional, State and Commonwealth planning strategies.
* Lead and coordinate proponent development assessments on port leasehold land, manage the Port Development Guidelines, and ensure developments integrate with PPA's commercial and operational requirements.
* Engage with local, State and Commonwealth planning authorities and major resource proponents to negotiate approvals and planning outcomes.
* Develop and manage scopes of work for consultants, liaising with Procurement and overseeing delivery within scope, time and budget under the PPA Project Management Framework.
* Prepare reports and briefing papers for Executive Committee and Board on planning and development matters.
About You
The following will contribute to your success in the role:
* A tertiary qualification in Urban or Town Planning, Engineering, Project Management, or a related discipline.
* Demonstrated experience in land-use planning and/or obtaining statutory approvals for major infrastructure projects, preferably with Port, Pilbara urban or regional planning exposure.
* Proven ability to manage projects and consultants from concept to close-out in complex environments.
* Strong stakeholder engagement and negotiation skills, with a collaborative communication style.
* Well-developed research, analysis and problem-solving skills.
Location and Benefits
* Salary from $141,409 pa + 13% superannuation (Pilbara package from $162,620 including location allowance).
* Based in Perth, Dampier or Port Hedland.
* Location allowance, relocation and housing benefits in the Pilbara. Housing, Electricity and Water provided - you will pay no more than $105 per week.
