Empower Aboriginal Communities through Family Law and Child Protection
This role presents a unique opportunity to work with Aboriginal victim-survivors of domestic, family, and sexual violence in Alice Springs.
As a Solicitor/Lawyer in our team, you will provide culturally appropriate legal advice and representation in Domestic Violence Orders and Victims of Crime Compensation matters.
* Represent clients in Domestic Violence Orders and Victims of Crime Compensation matters (occasional Family Law & Child Protection)
* Work closely with Client Service Officers to deliver wrap-around support
* Build strong relationships with communities and stakeholders
* Travel to remote communities for outreach and education
Key qualifications include:
* Eligibility for an NT legal practising certificate (restricted/unrestricted)
* At least 1 year post-admission experience (desirable)
* Understanding of trauma-informed practice and DFSV issues
* Strong communication skills and flexibility to travel
Additional requirements: C Class Driver's Licence, Working with Children Clearance, and a clear Criminal History Check. Aboriginal language skills are highly valued (allowance available).
