The Role: Financial Accountant
Our client is looking to appoint an experienced Financial Accountant to join the business on a contract basis to commence immediately. The role will be initially be engaged on a 6 month contract basis with the view to go full-time thereafter.
We're seeking a skilled Accountant to manage core financial functions across our operations. Key responsibilities include weekly cash flow reporting, accounts receivable management, job and account code creation, payroll coding review, monthly BAS, and bank reconciliations. You'll also support WIP accounting and forecasting within JDE.
The role involves monthly financial reporting, accounts payable closure, and preparing overhead reports for each business unit. Additional duties include PPE reconciliation, lease accounting for multiple sites, and balance sheet reconciliations such as accruals and prepayments. This is a hands-on role suited to someone with strong attention to detail and a proactive approach
Key skills and qualifications required:
* 5+ years experience working within a Financial Accountant position within an Engineering company servicing the mining and resources industry.
* Previous experience with JD Edwards (JDE) software - essential
* Effectively use MS Suite of programs including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
* Strong communication skills at all levels.
* Good attention to detail.
* Current Australian Drivers Licence.
