SA Water is seeking a detail-oriented and commercially minded Senior Management Accountant to join our Finance team. This role is a key business partner to operational groups, providing expert financial analysis, planning, and reporting to support strategic decision making and ensure the integrity of financial records.

About the role
As Senior Management Accountant, you'll work closely with business units to deliver accurate and timely financial insights, support budgeting and forecasting processes, and contribute to continuous improvement across finance operations. You'll play a vital role in helping SA Water achieve its financial objectives while promoting transparency, governance, and service excellence.

The Business Insights and Excellence group drives operational excellence by enabling best business practices, economic pricing, financial management, supply chain management, and Risk Governance & Assurance to support the broader business and partners in delivering reliable, cost-effective, sustainable, and future-focused outcomes.
In addition, your responsibilities will include:
Fostering trust with our people, customers and community by providing expert advice and service that ensure we effectively communicate and engage audiences with our business strategy and its delivery across South Australia, every day.
You will:
Key Responsibilities
* Coordinate and facilitate detailed budgeting and financial planning processes
* Deliver monthly financial, KPI, and FTE performance reports to the Sustainable Infrastructure (SI) business unit
* Provide commercial advice and tailored financial models to support decision-making
* Present complex financial concepts in clear, audience-appropriate formats
* Ensure compliance with financial governance policies and capitalisation requirements
* Support continuous improvement initiatives and trend analysis to identify performance risks
* Build strong relationships across SI and contribute to team goals
About you
You're a proactive and analytical finance professional with strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset. You thrive in dynamic environments, work independently with confidence, and bring a customer-focused approach to financial service delivery.
Skills, Knowledge, and Experience:
* Tertiary qualification in Economics, Management, or Accounting (essential)
* CPA or CA qualification (desirable)
* Strong analytical and financial modelling skills
* Excellent written, verbal, and visual communication skills
* Proven ability to build relationships and work independently
