Job Title: Senior Mental Health Clinician

About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Senior Mental Health Clinician to join our team at Orygen. As a key member of our clinical team, you will work with young people aged 12-25 who require support for complex mental health needs.
This is a full-time position available until August 2026, providing parental leave cover. We are looking for someone who can provide youth-focused mental health care, managing complex cases and coordinating intake, assessment, and referrals for at-risk young people.
Your Key Responsibilities
1. Deliver High-Quality Care: You will be responsible for delivering youth-focused mental health care, managing complex cases and coordinating intake, assessment, and referrals for at-risk young people.
2. Support Emergency Departments: You will support Emergency Departments to identify and address barriers to service access for young people at risk of self-harm or suicide.
3. Build Relationships: You will build strong relationships with external stakeholders, promote headspace programs, and engage in community awareness initiatives.
4. Maintain Accurate Records: You will maintain accurate case notes, ensure compliance with policies, and contribute to a safe, inclusive workplace culture.
5. Participate in Clinical Reviews: You will participate in Clinical Review Meetings, research initiatives, and service development activities while supporting team cohesion.
What You'll Need
* Approved Qualifications: Approved tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline (Psychology, Social Work, Occupational Therapy, Mental Health Nursing) and full registration with AHPRA or AASW (or eligibility for).
* Extensive Experience: Extensive experience in the planning and provision of mental health care, including completion of mental health assessments, crisis intervention, psychoeducation and short-term treatment interventions to young people experiencing mental health and/or substance use, and/or other social difficulties.
* Demonstrated Expertise: Demonstrated expertise in service systems, legislation, and government policies related to youth mental health and substance use.
* Leadership Skills: Leadership skills, including supervision of staff, leading group interventions, and community engagement activities.
* Excellent Communication: Excellent communication and problem-solving skills to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and build stakeholder partnerships.
