Salary: Starting at $145,378 + Superannuation
This role is part of the NSW Fair Trading Division's Digital team.
About the Team
NSW Fair Trading (FT) is responsible for administering property and consumer protection laws in NSW. The Fair Trading Digital team works closely with internal and external stakeholders to provide the best digital solutions for our customers.
Your Day-to-Day Responsibilities
* Lead large-scale digital procurement, contract negotiation, and execution for the Fair Trading Digital team. You will be the primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders on digital procurement matters, providing support to team members with ongoing vendor and contract management.
* Provide guidance on procurement, contract management, and vendor relationships for the Digital team, identifying potential issues, risks, and mitigation strategies to ensure compliance with procurement guidelines.
* Engage with stakeholders as part of the procurement process, communicating effectively, coordinating Briefing Notes, financial and risk management, and reporting to senior executives.
* Work with the Digital team to identify and prepare market engagement activities (e.g., RFQ, RFT, direct negotiation) and participate in evaluations of submissions as required.
* Support the Digital team with vendor onboarding, post-procurement contract management, and vendor performance monitoring.
* Collaborate with stakeholders to develop funding proposals for digital applications (LBC/NPPs/PTAs/DRF).
* Champion continuous process improvement for procurement and contract management within the Digital team.
* Apply a strategic view to proactively identify upcoming procurement requirements and potential cost savings across the team.
To Succeed in This Role
* You must have strong experience applying procurement policies and delegations in a government or regulated environment.
* You should possess excellent communication skills, able to explain and document complex concepts and arguments to various audiences.
* You should work efficiently, prioritizing outcomes, demonstrating a thorough commitment to speed, flexibility, and quality of deliverables with minimal supervision.
* You should have experience with technology-related business case development and strategy development.
* You should be skilled at reading, understanding, and applying complex contract terms, communicating summaries and identified risks to stakeholders, including executives.
* You should demonstrate exceptional negotiation, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills, along with business acumen.
* You should be proficient in ongoing vendor and contract management, including coordinating governance engagement, identifying areas of under/non-performance, and taking action to address these issues.
* You should have knowledge and expertise in relevant technology, practices, and industry trends.
* You should be experienced in communicating and delivering under shifting priorities and deliverables.
* You should be comfortable working with ambiguity in a high-pressure environment.
* You should be able to coach and mentor team members to drive continuous improvement.
