Job Description
The Department of Justice and Community Safety is seeking a Manager to oversee the development and delivery of Phase 5 of the Victorian Aboriginal Justice Agreement.
This critical role provides a key opportunity for an individual with expertise in Aboriginal affairs, public policy, or law to make a significant contribution to departmental decision-making.
The successful candidate will lead and manage a project team to coordinate the development and implementation of the AJA5, including oversight of budget allocation and project expenditure.
* Oversight of the development and delivery of Phase 5 of the Victorian Aboriginal Justice Agreement, including defining the strategic direction.
* Leadership and management of a project team to coordinate the development and implementation of the AJA5.
* Providing high-quality and effective engagement with the Aboriginal Justice Caucus and other key stakeholders to enable self-determination and improved justice outcomes.
Required Skills and Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will require:
Excellent knowledge of Aboriginal culture and society, as well as understanding of historical and contemporary issues relating to Aboriginal Victorians.
Strong knowledge of public policy development and implementation, including Cabinet processes and government decision-making processes.
Demonstrated experience delivering policy and reform through community partnership and targeted engagement.
Strong knowledge of AJA related governance structures and demonstrated experience working with Aboriginal communities.
* Knowledge of Aboriginal affairs, public policy, or law.
* A current Victorian Driver's Licence.
