Job Description
The Technical, Coordination and Logistics (TCL) department offers a range of services within Griffith University's Science Group (GSC), including the procurement of scientific consumables through the TCL Science Stores located at the Nathan and Gold Coast campuses.
Additionally, the TCL Science Stores provide delivery point services for the broader University community on these campuses. The TCL department manages access to Science allocated spaces, provides technical management for the group's building assets, and logistics support for the Science Group
As a Services and Stores Accounts Officer you will:
* Perform accurate data entry and provide administrative and financial support for Science Stores operations.
* Manage GSC key and swipe card allocation, including database maintenance.
* Coordinate equipment movement and support asset management in collaboration with Group Technical Managers.
* Conduct routine inspections of TCL-managed spaces and equipment.
* Liaise with academic staff, Corporate Services, and external suppliers; assist with general store operations as needed.
This role involves a high level of manual handling, requiring the ability to safely lift, move, and manage various materials and equipment on a regular basis.
About you
The successful candidate will hold relevant
qualifications
and have a minimum of two years’ experience in the field.
You will also have:
* A forklift licence. If you do not hold a current forklift licence the University will assist you in gaining this.
* A current class C drivers’ licence (manual preferred).
* A demonstrated ability to manage stock levels, investigate discrepancies, and maintain accurate records using inventory and financial systems (e.g. LILAC, general ledger registers), as well as proficiency in MS Office and security/access software such as Gallagher.
* A proven ability to build strong working relationships with stakeholders, provide excellent customer service, and contribute effectively to a team-focused environment across a multi-campus operation.
* A strong capacity to manage competing priorities, coordinate maintenance and staff relocations, and support operational logistics while ensuring timely and accurate completion of routine and ad hoc tasks.
* Demonstrated ability as a quick and proactive learner who can grasp operational processes and adapt to the evolving needs of a research-intensive environment, including the unique requirements of scientific workspaces.
* Effective verbal and written communication with the ability to work with a diverse range of stakeholders, solve problems independently or collaboratively, and maintain functional and orderly facilities and stores.
What we can offer
This is a fixed term (5 months), full time position primarily based at the Griffith University Brisbane South (Nathan). As Griffith is a multi-site University you may be required to work across other locations.
Griffith University’s sites are located on the lands of the Yugarabul, Yuggera, Jagera, Turrbal, Yugambeh and Kombumerri peoples.
Salary Range
The full time equivalent base salary will be HEW Level 4 range $73,623 - $77,680 per annum + 17% superannuation. The total FTE package will be in the range $86,139 - $90,886 per annum.
