The Technical Services team provide a strategic and forward looking perspective, a commitment to safety and sustainability and drive to maintain our operational excellence, further our production goals and support our strategies for improvement and growth. Our purpose is to create value through technology, engineering and asset management with Field Engineering being responsible for the management and maintenance of general site infrastructure and services.

**About the Opportunity**:
Reporting to the Field Engineering Supervisor, you will use your maintenance and project management expertise to effectively supervise and manage the safety, quality and cost of maintaining our non-process infrastructure (NPI) on site. The scope of this role also includes minor project improvements and modifications of mechanical and NPI installations.

You will be responsible for planning, risk assessing and authorising work, proactively engaging with stakeholders, ensuring quality and compliance to relevant codes/standards and managing costs. You will demonstrate a personal commitment to continuous improvement, effective time management, and a high level of accountability for stakeholder management, safety and quality in execution.

- Key responsibilities include:_
- Fostering a strong safety and quality culture within the relevant contractor groups to ensure understanding and adherence to WesCEF procedures and safety requirements.
- Supervision of contractors to ensure work is completed safely, on-time and on-budget.
- Preparing maintenance plans that are aligned with the organisation's strategy and goals.
- Monitoring and ensuring maintenance work is compliant and carried out to the required standards, codes and statutory requirements.
- Developing standards and procedures, and actively contributing towards a continuous improvement culture.
- Preparation of budgets and cost estimates, and involvement in capital projects.

**About you**:
You ideally possess a mechanical or building trade qualification or have demonstrated experience in a similar role in a heavy industry, mineral processing, or brownfields manufacturing environment. You are proficient and hands-on in your management style and enjoy managing teams of contractors.
- Experience managing a wide variety of NPI assets such as buildings, roofing and cladding, plumbing, civils and underground piping services.
- Knowledge of statutory requirements with respect to high risk tasks such as elevated work platforms, forklifts, rigging, demolition and excavation works. Knowledge of asbestos handling requirements will be highly regarded.
- A strong safety mindset, with a customer centric approach and the ability to hold teams and individuals accountable for meeting customer requirements.
- An understanding of the maintenance planning process, cost control methods and practices, and good governance.
- Strong communication skills, the ability to multitask and manage competing demands.
- Familiarity with major Enterprise Resource Planning software. JD Edwards and Oracle eBusiness will be highly regarded.
