Job DescriptionJob DescriptionSalary: $28-$35 hourly DOE$2,000.00 Bonus = $1,000 after 90 days and $1,000 after 1 year2nd Shift hours: 1:45pm-9:45pm(2nd shift differential $3.25)Position OverviewThe maintenance technician supports horseshoe manufacturing operations by maintaining, troubleshooting, improving, and repairing manufacturing equipment and assisting with building maintenance. Demonstrates Mustad values, showing respect for and engagement with co-workers, especially as they contribute to a quality product and organizational success.Essential Job Functions(required duties and responsibilities)To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.Installs, maintains and repairs facility equipment and systems, including but not limited to packing and line machines, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, air compressors, plumbing and HVAC systems, etc.Supports Production department with proper machine operation, troubleshooting, and change over activitiesFollows all safety and SOP regulations and procedures, including Mustad Performance Systems (MPS)Assists with monitoring and maintaining sufficient and cost-effective inventories of parts and suppliesEnsures all hazardous materials are properly labeled, stored and handled properly and that all Safety Data Sheets (SDS) are maintained and updated as requiredProvides documentation as needed, including data entry into PM softwarePerforms preventative maintenance on an established schedule, including testing on energized electrical equipmentPerforms other duties as requested by managementEducation, Experience, and Skills RequirementsHigh school diploma or GEDBasic knowledge in PLC and roboticsAbility to read, write and comprehend English verbal and written instructionsTraining and/or certification in electrical, mechanical, PLC or another related field5+ years of general maintenance experience, including troubleshooting and correcting problems with mechanical, electrical, hydraulics, pumps and motors, control circuits and power supply, maybe considered in lieu of formal trainingDemonstrated skills in operating hand and power toolsAbility to work independently with minimal supervisionExcellent problem-solving skills and blueprint and schematic interpretationDesirable Skills/Attributes( but not required)Demonstrated skills with PLC programmingComputer skillsDemonstrated skills in RoboticsPhysical DemandsProlonged periods of standing and walkingAbility to frequently stoop, kneel, bend, balance, reach above shoulders, crouchAbility for frequent use ofhands to feel, handle, touch, or manipulateSpecific vision requirements for this position include close vision, distance vision, vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focusFrequently lift up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift/move up to 75 poundsWork EnvironmentFactory settingExposure to heat, humidity, dust fumes, gases, toxic/caustic chemicals, and airborne particlesExposure to significantly loud noiseExposure to moving mechanical parts on line, as well as moving equipment throughout the factoryMandatory use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), which the company providesInfrequent exposure to heightsAdditional InformationEssential job functions and education, experience, and skills sections are representative of the minimum levels of education, experience, and skills required to perform the vital duties of this position.
