About the job (Part-Time and Casual Opportunities Available)
As part of our Baggage Crew, you will play a vital role in keeping flights on schedule and ensuring passengers' belongings travel safely with them. Your main duties include collecting, sorting, and checking luggage against flight lists and systems, making sure every bag is loaded onto the correct aircraft. Working as part of a close-knit team, you will uphold safety, accuracy, and efficiency in every task—helping deliver a smooth and reliable airport operation.
Your work will include:
Deliver services on behalf of Star Aviation customers, ensuring compliance and safety regulations are always met to the highest standards
Load and unload passenger luggage and air cargo, bulk and/or containers/pallets, onto barrows and/or dollies and the airport belt system
Responsible for courteous, prompt, accurate and careful handling of customer baggage, air freight and company material, onto barrows and/or dollies and the airport belt system
Continuous lifting, loading/unloading, sorting and transfer of baggage, freight and company material weighing up to 32kg
Represent both the Airline and Star to the highest level ensuring customer satisfaction
Report to the on-shift Baggage Crew Leader in a timely manner on any issues or activities likely to influence operations or relations with airline customers
Ensure compliance with all Uniform & PPE requirements
Other duties as requested by your manager
Management of GSE
Ensure the safe and secure operation of all equipment
Report equipment malfunction to the on-shift Baggage Crew Leader
Test all relevant equipment for serviceability before use via company process
Other duties that may include:
Cabin Cleaning / Fleet Presentation
Deliver Cabin Cleaning services on behalf of Star Aviation customers in accordance with the Airlines procedures under the direction of the Duty Manager
Cleaning the aircraft interior, including but not limited to seats, sidewalls, ceiling panels, carpet, galleys, and cabin lavatories
We're looking for someone who is highly competent and has previous experience in the operational requirements of ground handling across below-wing operations. To succeed, you'll need to be able to manage, motivate and lead teams, excellent time management skills, work in a fast-paced environment and be customer focused in your service.
Mandatory requirement
The role requires the ability to obtain and maintain an Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC). To be eligible, you must hold valid photo identification and successfully meet all background and security clearance requirements.
