This position supports the Principal Ranger and Technical Support team with management of a range of correspondence, administrative and financial support and human resource services, records, databases, and other information systems to meet targets and timeframes. In addition, the role assists in arranging travel and providing support to other members of the administration team as required.
As Administration Officer, you will:
- Use departmental databases and information systems to manage and ensure the accuracy of records, provide statistical information and produce reports.
- Manage regional assets including phones, motor vehicles and office and field equipment.
- Provide accurate and timely information to management and staff on a range of administrative matters including human resource and financial management, general administration and the status of works being undertaken and work procedures (e.g. issuing of invoices and tracking of the progress of payments for permits and authorities, correspondence and records management systems).
- Provide high level administrative and executive support including co-ordination of Ministerial and executive correspondence and quality assurance functions.
- Identify areas of operational improvement and assist in devising and implementing solutions to improve efficiency, including the development of effective work practices and procedures.
- Foster a workplace culture that supports and promotes the interests of, and engages with, First Nations people.
- Provide high level communication and administrative support including preparing and providing quality assurance and documentation of a diverse nature.
- Liaise and confer on a regular basis with staff of all levels and with external clients as required.
Knowledge of Microsoft 365 package, MECS, ExpenseMePro, Excel and SharePoint will be highly regarded.
It is important that you have high level organisational skills and experience and can effectively manage multiple tasks and projects at once. This includes the ability to set and meet realistic goals and prioritise tasks.
No mandatory qualifications are required to undertake this position, however formal qualifications relevant to the role would be highly regarded.
This position is negotiable in Central Region - Mackay, Rockhampton or Townsville preferred. Travel to other regional centres and offices is required from time to time - including overnight stays.
