About the team
Our Technology team is the backbone of the business, building and maintaining the information technology infrastructure that support Coles Group. As a part of the Technology team, you get the opportunity to work through complex, challenging, meaningful problems using large data sets and new technologies to expand your skills and experience.
About the role
This is primarily a senior DevOps role, with opportunities to contribute to both maintenance and new development initiatives in Java Spring Boot and Azure Data Factory projects.
Tech Stack & Responsibilities
* Work with Docker, Kubernetes (AKS), Terraform, Azure Pipelines, GitOps, Artifactory, and security tooling.
* Support a diverse application portfolio across Azure Cloud.
* Maintain monitoring and observability via DataDog and related tools.
* Lead and mentor DevOps engineers and contribute to defining and implementing DevOps standards.
About you and your skills:
Required Skills
* 5+ years hands-on DevOps experience in Azure, AWS, or GCP.
* Strong proficiency with Docker & Kubernetes.
* Skilled in scripting using Bash, PowerShell, or Python.
* Experienced in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) with Terraform or Ansible.
* Comfortable with Linux and incident investigation in on-prem systems.
* Familiar with CI/CD tooling and repositories (e.g., Azure Pipelines, Artifactory).
* Working knowledge of security practices including OAuth2, RBAC, and secrets management.
* Understanding of cloud architecture (REST, messaging, microservices, high availability, serverless, API gateways).
* Comfortable working in Agile environments across multiple squads.
Desirable Skills
* Development or maintenance experience in Java, JavaScript, or .NET.
* Familiarity with unit testing and software design patterns.
* Understanding of relational databases, batch processing, and ETL tools.
* Oracle database and system maintenance experience
