The Defence Service Homes (DSH) Insurance Scheme is a national scheme providing home building insurance to eligible veterans, war widows and Australian Defence Force (ADF) personnel. The Sales & Policy team are responsible for insurance sales and providing general advice to clients on their home and other insurance needs.
**Duties**
- Management of the Defence Service Homes (DSH) Insurance Sales and Policy (general enquiry) team including:
- Management of phone service levels and processing resources;
- Contribute to the development and achievement of team goals;
- Provide accurate, succinct oral and written advice and reports on sales and policy issues;
- Provide quality advice and support to the team;
- Lead, develop and motivate staff in achieving team goals;
- Conduct performance feedback for team members as required;
- Ensure service level standards are met, and manage resourcing to meet service goals and expectations.
- Manage complex policyholder complaints and participate in the Internal Disputes process and compliance requirements
- Recruiting, managing and performance management of staff in consistent with Department of Veterans' Affairs employment policies and processes
- Focus on the growth of the DSH product offering through re/engagement and retention programs
- Represent DSH Insurance at departmental and client activities.
- Examine work practices on a continuing basis to ensure tasks/procedures are being carried out in an effective, efficient and timely manner.
- Provide reporting on sales and policy functions as required including to the DSH Insurance Advisory Board.
- Assist with national projects as required.
- Work collaboratively with a geographically dispersed national team to deliver value to policyholders through the DSH Insurance scheme
