About the Role

We are seeking a proactive and organised Senior E&I Project Engineer to join our growing Adelaide team.

From electrical design, power systems, instrumentation and controls, and automation through to civil, structural, mechanical and process engineering GPA covers the full end‑to‑end project lifecycle from concept through to detailed design, construction management and commissioning.

That means as a Project Engineer here you’ll gain exposure to all phases of delivery and work alongside multi‑disciplinary teams to bring projects to this role you’ll be central to driving project success working closely with clients, stakeholders and multi‑disciplinary teams to deliver safe, efficient and fit‑for‑purpose solutions. This role blends engineering knowledge with project coordination giving you the chance to work across diverse industries and multi‑disciplinary projects while developing both your technical and project delivery skills. As part of the team you will :

* Support the development and review of LV electrical instrumentation and control hardware designs, including drawings, equipment specifications, systems and schedules.
* Assist with and review multi‑disciplinary deliverables to ensure integrated project outcomes.
* Prepare proposals, scopes of work, estimates and cost plans.
* Deliver small to large complex multi‑disciplinary projects safely, efficiently and to client expectations.
* Resolve design issues, anomalies and technical challenges in collaboration with stakeholders.
* Lead client meetings, manage risks, track actions and provide clear progress reporting.
* Support tendering and contract administration for larger projects.
* Mentor and support junior engineers by sharing project knowledge, providing guidance, checking and helping them develop strong engineering fundamentals.
* Provide construction and commissioning support, including site visits as required.
* Contribute to the technical success of project outcomes within your discipline(s).


Skills And Experiences

We’re looking for a Senior E&I Project Engineer who combines technical grounding in electrical and instrumentation with strong organisational and delivery skills. The ideal candidate will bring :

* Experience delivering E&I projects within sectors such as water, energy, oil & gas, mining, defence and renewables with a sound understanding of relevant Australian Standards including AS/NZS 3000 and AS/NZS 3008 (knowledge of AS/NZS 3010 and AS/NZS 60079.14 is desirable).
* Ability to interpret drawings, specifications and technical documentation to support project delivery.
* Experience preparing scopes of work, cost estimates, schedules and progress reporting.
* Strong communication and stakeholder management skills with confidence in client‑facing roles.
* A collaborative mindset with the ability to coordinate across multiple disciplines and vendors.
* An Australian‑recognised engineering degree in Electrical Instrumentation or a related field (Chartership and/or Project Management qualifications desirable).

A requirement for this role is to complete a satisfactory pre‑employment medical check and Australian police clearance.
