About the Role
The Investment Analyst will play a pivotal role in supporting portfolio management by identifying, researching and evaluating public equity investments for a long/short strategy.
Key Responsibilities
* Conduct thorough research on potential long and short investment opportunities across various sectors within a specific coverage universe.
* Develop and maintain financial models and valuations.
* Perform industry and competitive analysis to identify secular trends and company-specific drivers.
* Monitor existing portfolio positions and recommend adjustments based on changing company or macro fundamentals.
* Generate actionable investment ideas with clearly articulated theses, catalysts and risk/reward profiles.
* Participate in management meetings, earnings calls, sell-side conferences and other industry events.
* Compose internal research notes and produce client presentations.
Qualifications
* Must have: 3–5 years of relevant experience in equity research or funds management.
* Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting or related field; MBA, CFA or CPA preferred.
* Strong skills in financial modelling and valuation.
* Solid understanding of accounting and financial statements.
* A self-starter with a strong work ethic and intellectual curiosity.
* Ability to think independently and challenge consensus views.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Comfortable working in a fast-paced, performance-driven environment.
Preferred Attributes
* Prior experience in long/short equity strategies.
* Familiarity with data platforms such as Bloomberg, Refinitiv or similar tools.
