About Ageing Australia
Ageing Australia is the national peak body representing providers across the aged care landscape, including retirement living, seniors housing, residential care, home care, community care, and related services. We advocate for our members, providing expert advice, resources and tailored services to ensure they deliver exceptional care to older Australians.
About the Role
As a Provider Engagement Advisor, you’ll help strengthen the aged care workforce across regional Tasmania through the Home Care Workforce Support Program (HCWSP).
You’ll work closely with home care providers to boost participation in the program, connect them with pre-screened candidates, and support sustainable, local workforce solutions that help older Australians live independently at home for longer.
Applicants located outside of Burnie/Ulverstone are encouraged to apply as the role will be mainly remote; however regular travel to the region is required.
Key role responsibilities
- Build and maintain strong relationships with regional home care providers to promote the objectives of the HCWSP.
- Conduct regular outreach and engagement activities (e.g. meetings, forums, site visits) to ensure provider needs and workforce gaps are understood.
- Achieve engagement targets by enrolling at least 80% of identified providers across targeted regions.
- Assist Workforce Engagement Officers in facilitating the connection between pre-screened candidates and suitable home care providers.
- Work with the Retention Specialist to monitor and report on placement outcomes, including retention and satisfaction.
- Collaborate with providers to identify workforce challenges and co-design locally tailored workforce solutions.
- Collaborate with the HCWSP team to provide guidance or direct providers to the relevant specialist for support with workforce planning, recruitment, and skills development.
- Promote initiatives that support long-term workforce sustainability, such as training, mentoring or micro-credentialing.
- Accurately record and report engagement and placement activities using designated systems or tools.
- Contribute to regular reporting, evaluation, and continuous improvement of the program.
- Gather feedback from providers and where relevant, candidates, to identify improvement opportunities.
- Share insights and recommendations with the broader team to refine engagement strategies and program delivery.
Selection Criteria
- Previous experience working with employers, service providers, or community organisations—ideally in the health, aged care, or community services sector.
- Experience delivering or supporting government funded programs, workforce initiatives or community-based projects.
- Experience working in regional or rural communities and an understanding of local workforce issues and community dynamics.
- Understanding of the challenges and dynamics facing regional home care providers, including workforce shortages, skills gaps and service delivery issues.
- Proven ability to build trusted relationships and influence diverse stakeholders.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to facilitate discussions, lead presentations or represent a program publicly.
- Ability to meet KPIs, track progress and report outcomes.
- Willingness and ability to travel to regional locations, accounting for around 20% of the total program duration.
- Demonstrated robust work ethic and a commitment to Ageing Australia’s values, with a genuine passion for improving outcomes in aged care.
