Council is seeking a Senior Civil Design PM to oversee the planning and design of civil engineering works.

A fantastic opportunity is available for an experienced Senior Civil Design Project Manager to join a dynamic City Delivery team on a temporary contract through to June 2026. This role is ideal for a highly skilled civil engineer with strong technical, design, and project delivery capability who thrives in a fast‑paced capital works environment.
Your new role
In this senior position, you will lead the planning and design of civil engineering works to support the successful delivery of a diverse annual Capital Works Program. You will provide expert engineering oversight, manage consultants, coordinate design investigations, and ensure all projects align with industry best practice and engineering standards.
* Lead the planning, scoping, and design of civil engineering projects across roads, drainage, and intersections.
* Manage procurement, contract administration, and performance of external design consultants.
* Review and validate engineering designs for compliance with relevant standards, regulations, and internal policies.
* Coordinate geotechnical investigations, surveys, and authority approvals.
* Provide specialist civil engineering direction and contribute to long‑term capital works planning.
* Ensure exemplary customer service is delivered to internal stakeholders, contractors, and the community.
* Champion workplace health and safety throughout all project activities
What you'll need to succeed
You bring a strong engineering foundation along with proven project leadership experience. You will have:
* A degree in Civil Engineering with significant experience in civil design and project management.
* Professional Engineering Registration (RPEQ / RPEng / or Victorian Registration under the Professional Engineers Registration Act) - mandatory for this role.
* Advanced capability in road, drainage, and intersection design.
* Strong proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and similar design software
* Excellent communication, presenting, negotiating, and stakeholder management skills.
* Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and tight deadlines.
