Our Multi Award winning tourism business is currently seeking a full-time Sales and Marketing Manager to join us in a permanent position based here in Longreach - the heart of the Outback.
As the Sales and Marketing Manager with Outback Pioneers, your role will be to oversee our reservation and accommodation team, which inmost cases is the first touchpoint for guests when they want to book a holiday, experience or accommodation with us. In doing so you will be responsible for the day-to-day operation of Outback Pioneers booking office, and will be accountable for the implementation of policies, procedures, marketing strategies, sales goals and objectives.
As part of your training you will learn our daily operating procedures, computer / booking systems, reporting requirements and other processes required as part of the day-to-day operation. Of course you will also get the opportunity learn all about (and experience) our products and offerings to ensure you are able to provide genuine guidance and outstanding customer service and achieve marketing and sales KPI's and targets..
The role of the booking office itself is to:
* Provide outstanding customer service - respond to all enquiries and booking requests effectively - explain why our holidays, accommodation and experiences are so outstanding and to maximize our sales.
* Complete relevant data entry into our systems and administer bookings through to a visitor's arrival, across experiences and accommodation bookings (including making tickets and confirming special requirements).
* Checking in guests, directing them to their rooms, and at times performing room checks prior to guests arrival for quality control.
* Keep in close contact with accounts administration about accounts payable and receivable, including corporate clients and online reservation systems.
As the Sales and Marketing Manager you will be required to:
* Contribute to a cooperative, flexible and supportive team environment by helping out with the above where necessary to make sure results are achieved and customers are happy
* Implement sales strategies and setting sales targets
* Maintaining target response time and KPI's for team
* Being a point of authority to handled escalated queries or complaints
* Oversee housekeeping team, maintenance requirements and third parties where necessary
* Allocate general tasks to quality control staff to ensure product is to sales standard
* Work with Operations Manager on goals and strategies to maximize sales and empower the team

Preferred Qualifications and Experience:
* Previous experience in a sales environment with strong customer service standards
* Experience or qualifications in the tourism industry is a strong advantage
* Demonstrated experience in fostering team culture through training and guidance
