Job Description:
* We are seeking an experienced System Architect to join our team. This role will involve the design and integration of complex systems, ensuring coherence across platforms, technologies, and mission requirements.
The successful candidate will have a tertiary qualification in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, ICT or a related discipline and significant experience in systems architecture, preferably within Defence, Government or similarly complex technical environments.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop and maintain system architecture frameworks, models and documentation aligned with Defence requirements and standards.
* Lead the design and integration of complex systems, ensuring coherence across platforms, technologies and mission requirements.
* Ensure system designs meet functional, security and performance objectives throughout the system lifecycle.
* Collaborate with stakeholders to define and refine system requirements and ensure traceability throughout design and implementation phases.
* Assess and manage technical risks, system interfaces and interdependencies across integrated environments.
* Provide strategic input into capability planning, technology roadmaps and architecture governance.
* Ensure compliance with relevant Defence frameworks such as TOGAF, DODAF, ISO/IEC 42010 and ASDEFCON.
Requirements:
* Tertiary qualifications in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, ICT or a related discipline.
* Significant experience in systems architecture, preferably within Defence, Government or similarly complex technical environments.
* Demonstrated knowledge of systems engineering principles, model-based systems engineering (MBSE) and enterprise architecture tools.
* Experience working with Defence Capability Life Cycle and related technical documentation, including SEMP, SV-1 to SV-11 views and interface control documents.
* Strong understanding of security, interoperability, scalability and compliance requirements in system design.
* Excellent stakeholder engagement, communication and leadership skills.
* Australian Citizenship is essential due to Defence security requirements.
* NV1 security clearance or eligibility to obtain one is highly desirable.
