Overview
Several volunteer opportunities are available to Community Transport Volunteers that can include working in a hospital or clinical environment upon successful completion of probationary pre requisites and training. All training is provided by St John Ambulance WA.
Responsibilities
* Report daily to starting location to collect necessary equipment for volunteer activity
* Transport passengers to and from appointments
* Transfer passenger belongings as required (wheelchair, personal belongings)
* Be willing to help, reassure and provide companionship to passengers as required
Qualifications
* Provide First Aid Certificate provided free of charge by St John
* Hold a current unrestricted C Class (or higher) drivers licence
* Happy to work with people who potentially have communication barriers or disabilities
* Happy to work with elderly people or those with decreased mobility
* Have the ability to work autonomously or as part of a team
* Have a professional attitude and excellent communication skills
* Have a friendly demeanor as well as a strong desire to help others
* Be physically able to stow equipment
* Show a genuine desire to help people in the community
