Senior Commercial Analyst - Global Retail Org.
About the Role
Our client is a global Retail organisation with a range of iconic, household brands and has been regarded as the Employer of Choice in the Retail / FMCG sector. This Senior Commercial Analyst is a newly-created, career-defining role which will help provide insightful analysis into key performance trends that will drive the company's financial direction. Furthermore, the analyst will act as the "go-to" commercial finance business partner for the GM's of Sales, Operations & Customer Support, translating financial data into actionable business insights. This is a permanent full‑time opportunity.
Key Responsibilities
* Act as the "go-to" Finance Business Partner to a number of GM's; providing them with timely reports and insights.
* Lead KPI reporting for large operational divisions.
* Make recommendations to support the business based on actual data, analysis, and insights.
* Contribute to month‑end close reporting.
* Analyse and explain all cost elements with regards to margin for actual results, forecast or budgeted performance.
* Conduct scenario analysis to evaluate commercial risks and opportunities.
* Analyse market, competitor, and internal performance data to deliver commercial insights.
* Prepare and maintain dashboards and reports (including KPIs).
* Assist with the construction of the forecast, budget and 5‑year plan from gross sales to gross margin.
Skills and Experience
* CA or CPA qualified, or working towards.
* Ideally proven working experience in a tangible product industry (Retail, FMCG, Pharmaceutical, etc.).
* Extensive Finance Business Partnering experience.
* Full PnL ownership in past roles desirable.
* Strong proficiency in advanced Microsoft Excel modelling.
* Experience working with large datasets and data manipulation.
* Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills.
* Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
* Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
