Sony Interactive Entertainments Future Technology Group (FTG) team is leading the cloud gaming revolution putting console-quality video games on any device! We are looking for passionate software engineers who are fascinated by the technologies behind the Internet and cloud computing.
As part of the Technical Operations Systems & Integrations team youll help design build and deliver systems that improve network observability and protection across a large globally distributed infrastructure.
Responsibilities
* Collaborate with engineers and customers to design implement and maintain scalable systems and services.
* Translate functional requirements into clear testable and maintainable technical solutions.
* Ownership of features or components with guidance from senior engineers driving them from design through deployment.
* Participate in architecture discussions and code reviews to ensure quality and maintainability.
* Contribute to system integrations and automation efforts that improve operational efficiency.
* Debug and resolve production issues with attention to reliability and root-cause analysis.
* Work closely with engineers to define and implement effective test strategies.
* Provide support to junior engineers through code reviews and knowledge sharing.
* Explore new tools and technologies to improve team productivity.
Requirements
* BS in Computer Science Engineering or equivalent experience.
* 36 years of software-development experience.
Skills & Knowledge
* Strong proficiency in Java and/or Python.
* Experience developing software for Unix/Linux environments.
* Solid understanding of distributed systems and scalable architectures.
* Familiarity with both relational and NoSQL databases.
* Understanding of REST JSON and web-service design principles.
* Experience with version-control tools such as Git and GitLab.
* Exposure to Docker Kubernetes Prometheus Consul or related technologies.
* Working knowledge of network fundamentals (TCP/IP DNS load balancing).
* Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated-testing frameworks.
Additional Attributes

* Comfortable working in an Agile development environment.
* Demonstrates accountability and ownership of results.
* Strong communication and documentation skills.
* Curious proactive and motivated to learn and improve.
* Experience with Kafka SQL or event-driven systems is a plus.
