Our training is delivered to students and apprentices on-site, online, in the workplace, or on-campus to give people the skills they need to enrich their communities, support their industries, and strengthen their local economies.By working at TAFE Queensland, you can be part of a highly experienced workforce closely connected with their industries and dedicated to delivering best practices and innovative training.As the Contract Manager - Pacific Maritime Training Services (PMTS) you will lead and manage a team of staff to deliver upon the Pacific Maritime Training Services contract between TAFE Queensland and the Department of Defence. You will also provide operational leadership across multiple functional areas related to the delivery of contracts maintaining accountability for delivery and business outcomes within the Pacific Maritime Training Services program. You will maximise revenue opportunities through effective business and relationship management and seek innovative delivery methodologies to improve educational outcomes.This position reports to the Faculty Manager – MaritimeThis is aTemporary, Full-Timeopportunity, to 30 June 2027unless otherwise determined.The position will be based primarily at Cairns,however you may be required to perform work at other TAFE Queensland campuses.Key ResponsibilitiesManage and oversee the implementation of the Pacific Maritime Training Services contract to effectively deliver specific programs as outline in the Commonwealth contract.Manage financial, human and physical resources allocated to the contract.Appraise, monitor and adjust products and services to meet the needs of all stakeholders and to foster opportunities for additional fee for service revenue.Manage the Pacific Maritime Training Services team to ensure compliance with contract specifications, achieve timelines and meet key performance indicators.Manage communication and active engagement with Commonwealth stakeholders, Pacific Island Countries, industry, business and the communityEstablish and implement a formal reporting mechanism for the provision of information to senior stakeholders regarding progress and compliance of the contract.Investigate and implement innovative delivery methodologies to create effective educational outcomes, and to manage the product cycle, implementing new products as required. Ensure that the contract successfully achieves the identified deliverables In accordance with the contract milestones.Regularly identify, manage and resolve risks to the contract, the department and the Government through developing and implementing risk mitigation strategies with the input and support of all key stakeholders.Lead the development of business process improvements and documentation to ensure standardisation, cost reduction and outcome enhancement.Manage stakeholder relationships, including participation by industry/business stakeholders and partners, and variations in stakeholder expectations and influence on contract activity, with the support of the Director, Educational Delivery Marine as necessary.Provide leadership on individual and team performance and future goals, including encouraging an environment where high quality work is achieved and is supported by the adherence/development of quality system documentation.How you will be assessedThe ideal applicant will be someone who has the following key capabilities:Demonstrated strong capacity in contract management (including a working knowledge of the Marine programs and Department of Defence initiatives) with the ability to manage and develop the financial, physical and human resources to achieve objectives.Demonstrated ability to provide leadership and encourage creativity and innovation in a changing, highly competitive and complex project setting.Demonstrated ability to lead a diverse team across multiple functional areasDemonstrated success in managing a complex project that delivers benefits to a large-scale organisation.Demonstrated highly developed consultation, communication and interpersonal skills including a significant record or achievement in leading and implementing major organisational activities.Highly Desirable RequirementsTertiary qualifications in Leadership or Management.Business and/or teaching degrees (or other relevant qualification).Demonstrated experience in the Maritime industry training environment.How to applyIf you’re interested in this role, click the ‘Apply’ button to submit your application via the TAFE Queensland Recruitment Portal.
