What's the role?
As a Senior Manager in Westpac's Technology Division, you'll join our Business Controls & Monitoring (BCM) team and play a key role in how we manage and strengthen Technology risk.
This permanent, full-time role is Sydney, Adelaide or Melbourne based with a hybrid working model, giving you the flexibility to balance work and life.
In this position, you'll lead the evaluation, direction, and monitoring of first line risk activities, making sure Technology risks stay within the Group's appetite. You'll work closely with leaders to identify, assess, and mitigate risks across both project and BAU environments. You'll also take ownership of risk activities across your portfolio and collaborate with Technology and Business BCM teams to drive our key risk priorities and support ongoing improvements.
What do I need?
To thrive in this role, you'll draw on a practical mix of risk, technology, and communication skills that help you guide teams and support sound decision‑making.
* An ability to translate technology risks into meaningful insights that link clearly to business goals and support informed decisions.
* A solid understanding of technology risk and compliance frameworks, including key areas like cyber and data risk.
* Confidence providing risk guidance across both day‑to‑day operations and change initiatives, particularly in complex or large environments.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively at all levels and present insights that leaders can act on.
* Sharp problem‑solving skills, along with the ability to plan, prioritise, and manage competing demands.
