Financial Crime (FC) Investigations focuses on the specific financial crime threats the firm faces now and in the future, pioneering the techniques and technology that protect our business, our customers, and the many communities in which we operate, from the harms associated with financial crime. FC Investigations harnesses research, analytics, technology, investigation, information sharing, and public-private partnership to achieve this end, always seeking the most effective and efficient means.
Taking on the role of **Assistant Manager, Investigative Reporting** you will be involved in investigating financial crime incidents and manage the day to day coordination of team operations, giving you the opportunity to learn and develop in this space in a leadership position. In doing so you will be involved with the prioritisation, investigation and mitigation of risks, regularly interacting with a broad range of teams across the business both in Australia and across borders. Working closely with the Senior Manager, Investigative Reporting, you will be joining the bank's network of Financial Crime Investigations teams globally.
**Your main responsibilities will include**:
- Allocating, reviewing and investigating all relevant Financial Crime referrals, originating from the business, research and analytics, law enforcement, automated Transaction Monitoring alerts or other relevant channels.
- Writing and submitting clear, concise, factual, unbiased, thorough and timely investigation reports.
- Managing the businesses' expectations in relation to investigation timeframes, escalating problems immediately and maintaining oversight of the teams key reporting requirements.
- Making recommendations for process improvement, strengthening of control and supporting with the remediation of identified issues.
- Assisting the Senior Manager, Investigative Reporting in the delivery of Group, regional and country initiates as required.
- Providing feedback on the quality of cases and facilitating training across teams to uplift the quality and skillset of the team and broader departments.
- Performing Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO) delegate duties in relation to the filing of Suspicious Matter Reports (SMR).
- Supporting with the collation Management Information (MI) and preparation of commentary for relevant updates and governance forums.
Requirements
**To be successful in this role, you will need**:
- Experience in end to end financial crime investigation or investigations experience with a genuine interest to transition into and develop experience in financial crime investigations.
- Strong written communication skills with the ability to write and prepare investigative reports.
- Excellent analytical skills drawing on your genuine curiosity and strong eye for detail.
- Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to develop and manage strong stakeholder relationships.
- Exceptional time management, autonomously able to organise constantly changing priorities, with a sense of urgency.
- A strategic mindset, enabling you to visualise the consequences and ramifications of actions, beyond the transactional.
- Experience in banking, with an understanding of systems, processes, products and procedures is an advantage, but not essential.
