We're an established company with strong community ties, providing a wide range of business solutions including IT services, telecommunications, and office technology. We're looking for an experienced Systems Engineer to join our team and help deliver exceptional service to our clients.
About the Role
As a Network & Technical Support Technician, you'll work directly with our business clients to deliver and support IT infrastructure solutions. The role offers a balance of reactive support and project-based work, with a strong focus on networking. You'll be part of a rotating on-call roster and will primarily work in office with occasional remote and client site attendance.
Key Responsibilities
Design, implement and support network infrastructure including firewalls, VPNs, VLANs and dynamic routing
Provide technical support and troubleshooting for client environments
Manage and maintain server and virtualisation infrastructure
Administer Microsoft 365 tenants, Azure AD and on-premises Active Directory
Configure and monitor backup solutions
Document solutions and maintain accurate records in our PSA system
Build strong relationships with clients through professional, customer-focused service
Essential Skills & Experience
Experience in IT systems engineering or a similar role
Strong networking expertise including hands-on experience with UniFi, Mikrotik and/or Sophos XG firewalls
Solid understanding of VPN technologies, VLANs and dynamic routing protocols (OSPF)
Demonstrated experience in at least two of the following areas:
Microsoft 365 and Azure AD administration, including tenant setup and hardening
Active Directory management
Hyper-V virtualisation with clustering and replication
Backup platforms such as Shadow Protect, Acronis Cyber Protect Cloud or N-Able Backup
ConnectWise Manage or similar PSA/ticketing systems
Desirable Skills
Experience with 3CX or other VoIP/telephony systems
Familiarity with standard business applications including Windows 11, Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat
Relevant vendor certifications (training can be provided)
