An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Group Accountant to join a fast-growing residential home builder based in Morningside. Currently experiencing a significant growth phase, this organisation has built a strong reputation in the market and continues to scale operations across multiple business pillars.
Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer, this role offers broad exposure across financial reporting, forecasting, compliance, and strategic financial initiatives within a dynamic and entrepreneurial business environment. This position would suit a commercially minded accountant who enjoys operating in a hands‐on role within a project‐driven industry such as property or construction.
Key Responsibilities
* Assist with rolling cashflow forecasting and financial reporting
* Maintain integrity of job costing systems and project budget reporting
* Review monthly accounting workpapers and balance sheet reconciliations including WIP
* Manage group compliance including GST, FBT, Payroll Tax, Workers Compensation and Income Tax
* Support daily finance reporting including AP/AR, cash balances and progress claims forecasting
* Assist with debtor management and payment runs
* Work alongside the CFO on system optimisation and implementation of new finance systems
* Support the business with insurance compliance, licensing requirements and regulatory reporting
About You
* Proven experience in a project-based finance environment (property, construction or development highly regarded)
* Strong Excel capability including modelling, pivot tables and advanced formulas
* Ability to work autonomously while collaborating closely with senior leadership
* Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
* Strong written and verbal communication skills
* Qualified or working towards CA/CPA (preferred)
