About us
The Gladstone Hospital is a 76-bed hospital and offers a range of general and specialist inpatient and outpatient services including emergency, general medicine and surgery, basic orthopaedic, clinical investigation, obstetrics, maternity, gynaecology, high dependency and coronary care, palliative care, medical imaging, pathology and paediatrics. Additional services include Mental Health, Alcohol and Other Drugs Service, oral health, physiotherapy, dietetics, speech pathology and outreach/community-based facilities, as well as a Primary Health Care Centre located at Boyne Valley.
About the role
* Strategically coordinate bed allocation using best practice principles and provide guidance to clinical units to facilitate efficient and effective capacity management.
* This position will initiate and manage a range of strategies and activities that support and further develop patient flow throughout the facility and through the provision of effective and efficient human and material resources.
* Be accountable for supporting the nursing team of Gladstone Hospital in the after-hours environment and maintaining a point of contact for escalation of matters and advice as required.
* You will be the first point of contact and is responsible for effectively managing the Hospital departments in collaboration and communication with the operational senior leadership team of the Gladstone Hospital.
About you
* Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and a current annual practising certificate are mandatory for this position.
* A relevant qualification in consumer and patient experience/engagement or alternatively postgraduate qualification in management/leadership is desirable for this role.
* Expert specialist experience in the provision of a safe and quality focused environment by ensuring safe work practices, reviewing clinical outcomes, developing a quality improvement plan and applying the risk management framework.
* Advanced specialist level knowledge of legislation, standards, policies and procedures relevant to contemporary nursing practice and specific to area of practice.
What we offer
Total monthly remuneration value of up to $13,686 p.m. is comprised of:
* An hourly rate between $70.58 - $76.63 p.h.
* 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
