Engineering Manager Job
We are seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead our production engineering and research & development teams. As a key leadership role, you will be responsible for overseeing the delivery of strategic and operational initiatives related to capital projects, continuous improvement, and product development.
This is a full-time position that requires strong project management skills, excellent communication abilities, and a proven track record in managing cross-functional teams and delivering complex projects. You will also need to ensure that all engineering activities align with business objectives and deliver value through innovation, efficiency, and technical excellence.
Main Responsibilities
* Leadership & Team Management: Lead, mentor, and develop the Production Engineering and R&D teams to foster a high-performance, collaborative culture.
* Resource Planning & Development: Ensure effective resource planning, capability development, and succession planning within the engineering function.
* Cross-Functional Collaboration: Promote cross-functional collaboration with operations, maintenance, quality, product engineering, and commercial teams.
* Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all engineering activities comply with regulatory, safety, and quality standards.
Capital Project Delivery
* Lifecycle Management: Manage the full lifecycle of capital projects: from initial scoping and feasibility/business case development through to detailed design, procurement, installation, commissioning, and handover.
* Project Governance: Maintain strong project governance, stakeholder engagement, and reporting processes.
Continuous Improvement
* Process Enhancement: Drive continuous improvement initiatives across production processes to enhance safety, efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and sustainability.
* Lean Six Sigma: Utilize Lean, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies to identify and work with the operational team to implement process improvements.
Research & Development
* Innovation & Commercialization: Oversee the development of innovative and commercially sound new products, from concept through to commercialization.
* Market Analysis: Collaborate with marketing, sales, and customers to identify market needs and translate them into viable product solutions.
Requirements
* Experience: Minimum 7–10 years of engineering experience ideally in a manufacturing or similar environment, with at least 3–5 years in a leadership role.
* Skillset: Proven experience managing cross-functional teams and delivering capital projects and product development initiatives.
* Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or related field).
