About The Role
Maitland City Council is one of the fastest growing councils in the state, driven by significant greenfield development and ongoing urban expansion. To support this growth, we are seeking an experienced Subdivision and Development Engineer to join our team.
Working within the City Planning department, the Subdivision and Development Engineer is responsible for the civil engineering assessment of Development Applications, approval of engineering construction design plans, construction compliance inspection and the eventual acceptance of completed roads, drainage and recreation assets on behalf of Council. These responsibilities are undertaken in accordance with Council\'s Development Control Plans, relevant codes, organisational policies and best practice engineering standards.
This position involves regular engagement with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, supporting developers, consultants, contractors and members of the public. The role offers a balance of office based technical assessment and onsite construction inspections, providing valuable end-to-end exposure to the subdivision delivery process and strong professional development opportunities.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will hold a Degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline or possess equivalent experience supported by relevant education and training.
You will have contemporary knowledge and practical experience across all aspects of subdivision construction and development engineering along with demonstrated experience in the assessment of Development Applications and the review of engineering design plans.
You will be able to demonstrate exceptional communication skills and the ability to work productively in a team environment.
Benefits
This is a permanent full-time position working 35 hours per week, with a salary ranging from $105,916 to $117,567, plus:
* 12% superannuation
