The Opportunity
When was the last time you made a difference in someone's life? It takes a special person to be a Care Worker and help the older members of our community to maintain their independence and wellbeing. We are looking for a person with at least 3 months experience in a similar professional role to join the Silverchain team in the Dulwich SA area.

What we’re looking for
- Enjoy having variety in their day
- Are passionate about providing an excellent service
- Can build positive relationships with clients and their families
- Can handle challenging days and stay resilient in the face of delays or difficulties
- Are comfortable working independently and finding solutions to everyday problems, knowing when to ask your manager for help
- A valid Australian Driver's Licence & your own insured, roadworthy vehicle
- Certificate III or above in Aged Care or Individual Support or Disability
- Experience of 6 months or more in a similar role, with experience in personal care, manual handling, hoist training and medications
The role and responsibilities
In the role of Care Worker you will be providing our aged care clients with home help and personal care services, including:
- General housekeeping and making beds; cleaning, mopping and vacuuming floors; washing, folding and ironing laundry
- Meal preparation and grocery shopping
- Getting clients out of bed, showered and dressed for the day
- Assisting clients to take their medications
- Assisting with mobility and therapy goals
- Providing complex care for customers with high care needs, such as dementia
- Providing social and emotional support
- Providing the client with transport to lifestyle activities or appointments
- Helping the family carer to have a break or an opportunity to do other things
