Overview
Americold is a global provider of temperature-controlled infrastructure. We partner with farmers and food producers to ensure their perishable and frozen product reaches food suppliers, restaurants, and your local grocery store without spoilage. Responsibilities
* Lead daily operations at the Wivenhoe site in Tasmania, including overseeing product movement, operational workflows, customer service standards, and team leadership.
* Report to the General Manager and be accountable for safety, service, and financial targets while developing an engaged, high-performing team.
* Balance strategic planning with hands-on floor support, including rolling up your sleeves and assisting as needed in a small warehouse.
* Drive day-to-day warehouse operations to meet budgeted revenues, costs, and performance targets.
* Support sales and business development initiatives.
* Maintain and improve warehouse procedures, KPIs, and inventory control processes.
* Prepare and manage operational schedules and production priorities.
* Ensure full compliance with food safety, occupational safety, and all state/federal regulations.
* Conduct regular inspections, safety training, and incident reporting; champion best-practice safety behaviours and maintain a clean, well-organised facility.
* Lead, coach and develop team members, including supervisor-level staff; oversee rostering, training, performance management, and employee engagement; build a positive, collaborative workplace culture.
* Maintain strong relationships with customers and internal stakeholders; coordinate with sales, purchasing, and other departments to ensure seamless operations.
* Ensure product quality standards are met, including handling of perishables.
What Experience and Education Do You Need?
* 5+ years' supervisory or operations management experience within Warehouse and Logistics.
* Diploma or Degree in Business, Logistics, or related field (preferred).
* Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and RF scanning.
* Strong skills in spreadsheet modelling and labour management applications.
* Current forklift licence (required).
