Position Summary Accountable for the operations of the Company’s linehaul resources, co-ordinating interstate freight movements in the most cost effective and efficient manner ensuring the achievement of optimum customer service levels. Functions and Responsibilities Percentage Function Operational § Maintain the Profit/loss relating to the Linehaul Services § Manage daily interstate bookings (received, processed, allocated & programmed for movement) § Report on daily meterage and price variations § To ensure full compliance with administrative procedures as outlined in Company Policy. § Deal with branch, franchise and agents’ queries relating to linehaul services § Allocate and book containers as required and organise their immediate de-hire through internal and external resources. § To maintain ongoing records of the linehaul and other functions as determined from time to time. § Assist with the statistical analysis of all reports generating from linehaul services advising trends and patterns and contribute to decisions concerning price variations § Data entry and maintenance of all statistical records as agreed with the national manager, customer service and operations. § Ensure that linehaul services contract carriers adhere to quality and performance requirements § To control the paperwork flow related to your area and to ensure it is completed fully and correctly. § Monitor and schedule where possible empty Import containers to reuse for Exports. § Reconcile monthly demurrage / domestic and International. § Deal with and resolve customer queries as necessary and in line with Quality. § When required, arrange the provision of additional resources via contacting hire companies, or subcontractors, at cost-effective rates, approved by the National Operations Leader. § Raise manifests for all outgoing consignments. § Undertake all rail Container movement bookings and dispatch via Freight Web Road and Rail. § Collate and check inbound manifest ensuring correct allowances are applied. § Attend operative meetings as required. DELEGATED AUTHORITY § Full authority Recommend recruitment of operational staff with reference to Operations Manager § Full authority to recommend the alteration of operational procedures and systems in order to maximise efficiency and customer service - with reference to the National Operations Leader AUNZ § Full authority to Expend Company Funds in accordance with Company Policy contained in the Company Policy Manual Section 2, Finance, No 2.4 - "Transaction and Signature Authority".
