Carer – Traineeship
A paid work and study opportunity to obtain your qualification of a Certificate III in Individual Support.
This enables you to study and apply your learning into the workplace whilst being paid.
About The Role
We are looking for enthusiastic and caring people, with a genuine interest in a career in aged care, for multiple, part-time traineeship opportunities with Baptistcare Kularoo.
This exciting program is for a minimum of 24 months, and includes undertaking a Certificate III Individual Support, delivered by Essential skills, whilst gaining on-the-job experience.
You Will Learn To
Work in partnership with residents to achieve their goals by assisting with the implementation of their individual care plans.
Demonstrate kindness and respect for the resident's dignity as you assist with personal and daily care, and activities of interest to the individual (which may include showering, shaving, storing clothes, general cleaning, assistance with meals, and general movements throughout the day).
Encouraging individual choice through an appreciation and understanding of the things that matter to your residents and their families.
Providing regular feedback to your supervisor or the manager on the resident's progress, new requests, changes, or any concerns.
To Be Successful You Will Have
A commitment to undertaking the Certificate III in Individual support qualification
Able to commit to a minimum of 15hours per fortnight
A big heart - you're empathetic, adaptable and have a passion for supporting older Australians to live their best life possible
A passion to begin your career in the aged care sector
Flexibility and availability to work shifts that include weekends, late afternoons and evenings
To Be Eligible For a Traineeship Candidates Must
Be living or working in NSW
Be an Australian citizen or permanent resident
Completion of at least Year 10 certificate
Be physically able to carry out required duties in a safe and efficient manner.
Must not have already completed or started studying a Certificate III in Individual Support or similar (higher qualifications in a like role such as Certificate IV or Bachelor make you not eligible for this traineeship)
Be able to use a computer and have basic digital literacy skills
Good communication skills- ability to communication with residents etc.
Have basic reading and writing skills to answer assessment questions
Own a computer/device to be able to complete course requirements

Located in the beautiful seaside town of Forster, Kularoo Centre is a well‑established and highly regarded part of the local community. With 160 beds, the centre offers a range of services including respite, Ageing in Place, dementia, and palliative care — all within a warm, country‑style homestead environment close to shops and essential amenities.
