Overview
Central Highlands Regional Council is seeking a Plant Operator / Labourer to join the teams located in Emerald / Capella / Duaringa / Blackwater Road Crews. As a member of the council's Infrastructure team, this position is responsible for performing a range of labouring duties and small plant operation tasks, to assist in the completion and maintenance of road and town facilities. There are opportunities to enhance your career with the potential to upskill qualifications, licences and plant tickets, and additional earning potential when overtime work is available. This role offers civil work with home every night.
Responsibilities
* Perform labouring duties and small plant operation tasks to support road and town facility maintenance.
Qualifications
* Experience in a similar role in a civil construction setting
* A positive and flexible attitude towards a diverse range of labouring tasks
* Willingness to work on rural job sites which may involve staying in a camp environment when required
* Current Queensland Drivers Licence
* Construction White Card
Licences / Tickets (Beneficial)
* Experience with road construction and/or maintenance
* Statement of Attainment or tickets for various small plant equipment
* HR Vehicle Licence
* Traffic Controller Ticket

The remuneration is Award Stream B, Level 4: $43.31 per hour inclusive of superannuation and allowances, with a 5% increase as of July 2026.
