Primary objective
Provide operational support to Tourism and Events NT in corporate and administrative functions including financial management,
procurement, travel, fleet management and general services.
Key duties and responsibilities
1. Analyse and verify credit card transactions to ensure compliance with Departmental and Northern Territory Government (NTG)
policies and procedures in relation to the use of corporate credit cards.
2. Process domestic and international creditors via NTG Pay, Overseas Telegraphic Transfer and corporate credit card to ensure accurate
and timely payment of accounts.
3. Process Accounts Receivable and Ledger transfer requests on behalf of the division.
4. Manage the security and fleet services including; distribution and maintenance of access levels for security passes, distribution of car
keys, assistance with vehicle bookings in the Vehicle Booking System (VBS) and assistance with vehicle maintenance such as servicing
requirements, replacements or returns.
1. Manage building and general services including; reporting building faults, responding to phone and email enquiries from the public and
ordering and monitoring stock levels of stationery and consumables.
1. Identify anomalies and prepare journals to maintain data integrity in the general ledger.
2. Provide training and support to divisional staff on finance business systems and processes (i.e. BOXI, NTG Pay, TRIPS and Expese8
etc.).
1. Provide support with information technology processes including; reconciliation of divisional billing, logging NTGServices requests,
logging fault requests, training and troubleshooting of the meeting room equipment and arranging replacement of faulty equipment.
Selection criteria
Essential
1. Demonstrated ability to provide a wide range of financial services including accounts receivable, accounts payable, corporate credit
card, tax, travel and reconciliations.
2. Knowledge of relevant financial legislation principals, and financial policies, procedures, processes and practices.
3. Strong written and verbal communication with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
4. Well-developed experience with computerise finance systems, spreadsheets, report generation tools and office automation, with the
ability to assemble and report financial data in a clear and concise manner relevant to the audience.
5. Well-developed computer literacy including experience with (or the ability to quickly attain) software and systems including; NTG Pay,
NTGServices, VBS, HP Content Manager, Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word.
6. Capacity for lateral thinking, be self-motivated and have creative problem-solving skills.
7. Demonstrated self-motivation, with the ability to work with minimal supervision.
Desirable
1. Prior experience working in an administrative role undertaking responsibilities relevant to this position.
2. Prior experience working in a public sector environment.
1. Knowledge of legislation relevant to the NTG and the Department of Tourism and Hospitality.
