About the role
We have an exciting opportunity for a Lawyer/Associate to joinour well-regarded Government Advisory team. Working alongsidePartners Mark Henry and Angela Barac and the wider team, this rolewill focus on providing merits review for a Commonwealth Governmentagency
This is a unique opportunity to join a collaborative team andhave responsibility for your own matters. Day to day you will havethe following responsibilities:
* Drafting summaries of evidence and statements ofissues.
* Assisting and attending case conferences and hearings.
* Conducting directions hearings.
* Drafting litigation strategies.
* Complex statutory interpretation.
About you
In order to be considered for this role, you will have thefollowing skills and experience:
* Approximately 1-3 years post qualification experience,ideally with experience in government advisory work, and have astrong interest in administrative law and statutoryinterpretation.
* You may have a background of working in government and bekeen to make your first move into a law firm. Alternatively,you will be doing similar work in another firm and looking fora new opportunity.
* You will have strong drafting skills, excellentcommunication skills and a collegiate approach.
