Overview
Yurra Pty Ltd The Earthmoving Plant Operator is responsible for assisting in the safe and effective operation of plant and equipment across civil construction, earthworks and infrastructure maintenance projects. The role supports the timely completion of site activities such as trenching, levelling, backfilling, loading, and general materials handling using basic mobile plant and hand-operated machinery, while adhering to all safety and environmental protocols in line with company objectives and operational requirements.

Responsibilities
* Promote and contribute to the overall health, safety and welfare of Yurra personnel, contractors, clients and visitors. Perform all duties in accordance with applicable legislation and Yurra Occupational Health, Safety and Environmental (OHS&E) policies and procedures, maintaining zero tolerance for unsafe practices. Actively comply with and support enforcement of company Health, Safety and Environmental requirements on site.
* Operate assigned earthmoving mobile plant under supervision, including rollers, skid steers and small excavators. Conduct pre-start inspections, identify and report equipment defects, and complete required plant documentation and logs. Assist with site preparation, clean-up, trenching, backfilling, compacting and material handling activities.
* Support trades and site crews with general labouring, spotting and other manual tasks as required. Adhere to site safety rules, toolbox meeting instructions and environmental control measures at all times.
Qualifications & Experience
* QUALIFICATIONS: Essential White Card and valid C Class (or higher) driver's licence.
* Statement of Attainment or VOC for at least one plant type. Desirable Certificate III in Civil Construction (Plant Operations) or similar RII qualification. HR licence or higher.
* First Aid/CPR and relevant traffic control or spotter accreditation.
* EXPERIENCE: Essential Physically fit with the ability to perform manual outdoor work. Able to follow instructions and communicate effectively on site.
* Strong safety awareness and willingness to learn plant and equipment procedures. Desirable Proactive, team-focused approach. Ability to carry out basic plant servicing under supervision.
* Motivation to develop skills within the civil and construction industry.
